The SuSA Model for Neutrino Oscillation Experiments: From Quasielastic Scattering to the Resonance Region

چکیده

High-precision studies of Beyond-Standard-Model physics through accelerator-based neutrino oscillation experiments require a very accurate description neutrino–nucleus cross-sections in broad energy region, going from quasielastic scattering up to deep, inelastic scattering. In this work, we focus on the following processes: scattering, two-particle-two-hole excitations, and excitation first (Delta) second (Roper) resonances nucleon. The nuclear model is fully relativistic includes both one- two-body currents. We compare our results with recent T2K MicroBooNE data carbon argon targets, present predictions for DUNE kinematics.

Quasielastic neutrino scattering from oxygen and the atmospheric neutrino problem.

We examine several phenomena beyond the scope of Fermi-gas models that affect the quasielastic scattering (from oxygen) of neutrinos in the 0.1 – 3.0 GeV range. These include Coulomb interactions of outgoing protons and leptons, a realistic finitevolume mean field, and the residual nucleon-nucleon interaction. None of these effects are accurately represented in the Monte Carlo simulations used ...

Neutrino mass spectrum from the results of neutrino oscillation experiments

All the possible schemes of neutrino mixing with four massive neutrinos inspired by the existing experimental indications in favor of neutrino mixing are considered in a model independent way. Assuming that in short-baseline experiments only one mass-squared difference is relevant, it is shown that the scheme with a neutrino mass hierarchy is not compatible with the experimental results. Only t...

Nuclear model effects in Charged Current neutrino–nucleus quasielastic scattering

The quasielastic scattering of muon neutrinos on oxygen 16 and carbon 12 targets is studied for neutrino energies between 200 MeV and 1 GeV, using the relativistic Fermi gas and a relativistic shell model. Final state interactions are included within the distorted wave impulse approximation. The different models are then employed to compute the inclusive charged–current quasielastic cross secti...

Nuclear model effects in neutrino-nucleus quasielastic scattering

Nuclear model effects in neutrino-nucleus quasielastic scattering are studied within the distorted wave impulse approximation, using a relativistic shell model to describe the nucleus, and comparing it with the relativistic Fermi gas. Both charged-current and neutral-current processes are considered and, for the neutral-current case, the uncertainties that nuclear effects may introduce in measu...

Quasielastic charged-current neutrino-nucleus scattering.

We provide integrated cross sections for quasielastic charged-current neutrino-nucleus scattering. Results evaluated using the phenomenological scaling function extracted from the analysis of experimental (e, e') data are compared with those obtained within the framework of the relativistic impulse approximation. We show that very reasonable agreement is reached when a description of final-stat...
